Sleeping in until seven was a luxury today! We met our guide and headed to the bus station for a 25 minute ride to the ruins.

Here are the photos, to best tell the story!

We first arrived at Machu Picchu around 9 am to cloudy skies and met our guide, Darwin.

the temple to Mother Earth (Pachamama)
the Casa Inca, or the king’s house. The Incan people were actually called Quetchua, and the “Inca” was the king. The posts protruding from the triangular sides were to tie the thatched roof down.

back on the train, we were entertained by Saqra dancers. They represent mischief.
